On 12 June 2007 the project office was informed by the EU authorities that the EUGeneHeart Integrated Project will be funded for an additional period of 18 months (January 2007 - June 2008).  As a consequence of excellent scientific work performed by all partners within EUGeneHeart, the EU grants to continue the project after a positive review of the periodic reports. The network among the partners of the project keeps on growing together not only due to the fact that the concept at hand has proved appropriate. There is a high amount of publications arising from the research related to EUGeneHeart, and huge synergetic effects are becoming visible.

Prof. Gerd Hasenfuss, coordinator of the project, is very impressed with the partners’ performance and the short phase of implementation. He finds the scientific output highly promising. In short, all partners have reason for being confident and optimistic about future research in the field.

So let us cite an old saying: “Everything is going to be alright” with the EUGeneHeart project!
