January 2008 - Annual European Heart Failure Winter Research Meeting

The third Winter Research Meeting of the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology (HFA of the ESC) was held from 23 to 26 January in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
Again, several scientists involved in EUGeneHeart took part in this high-quality event titled “Heart failure and regeneration” together with other 100 scientists from around the world. One of the scientific sessions dealt with EUGeneHeart studies on “Cardiac Remodelling” discussing important new results of latest research. Furthermore, a poster session had been organized with 51 excellent poster presentations. This was topped off by the poster award competition which was won by Dr. Tim Seidler from Goettingen for his outstanding presentation.
At the end of the meeting the general conclusion was that the meeting had been a great scientific success.

The EUGeneHeart coordinator G Hasenfuss, Chairperson (Germany) and other members of the project like A Shah, Co-Chairperson (United Kingdom) (both meeting coordinators) as well as J-L Balligand (Belgium), P Doevendans (Netherlands), K Sipido (Belgium), and G Tarone (Italy) from the meeting organising committee have decided on a new site for the coming Winter Research Meeting 2009: It will be held in Switzerland in a ski resort called “Les Diablerets", from 28 to 31 January.
